Worship and Music

Worship is central to our life at Ashburn Presbyterian Church. We worship the Lord in our daily lives and we come together corporately as the body of Christ to worship every week. True worship is a dynamic encounter with the Living God.We believe that worship is participatory, “Praise Him with singing, praise Him with the sound of trumpets, with tambourine, strings, flute, cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 98 & 150), and includes not only music, but proclaiming God’s Word, teaching it to others and lovingly serving others. Paul said in Ephesians 5:2 to “Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

When you come to worship on Sunday morning at APC, you may choose to participate in either a contemporary or a traditional style of worship with the same message proclaimed at both services. Whatever your preference, you are warmly welcomed to this time of worshipping the Lord! Invite your friends, neighbors and family to APC to experience:

MUSIC

The Music Ministry provides many opportunities for children and adults to use their voices and instruments to praise the Lord and lead worship! In 2 Chronicles 15:13, it says the trumpeters and singers joined in unison as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever!” Today, just as then, we come together to lead worship as with one voice, to give Him our praise and claim his awesome power and Lordship in our lives. We welcome all ages and provide opportunities for using both voice and instruments in the music ministry.

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir provides music for Sunday morning worship services and for additional evening worship services throughout the year. It also provides opportunities for solos and small ensembles. This group is open to teenagers and adults. Auditions are not required – just a desire to use your gift to serve the Lord in the ministry of worship. The Sanctuary Choir is an integral part of Sunday morning worship during the 11:15 am service. The Sanctuary Choir is a family who loves to sing, fellowship together and who also cares and supports one another. Choir rehearses on Wednesday Nights from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the main sanctuary.
