Worship is central to our life at Ashburn Presbyterian Church. We worship the Lord in our daily lives and we come together corporately as the body of Christ to worship every week. True worship is a dynamic encounter with the Living God.We believe that worship is participatory, “Praise Him with singing, praise Him with the sound of trumpets, with tambourine, strings, flute, cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” (Psalm 98 & 150), and includes not only music, but proclaiming God’s Word, teaching it to others and lovingly serving others. Paul said in Ephesians 5:2 to “Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
When you come to worship on Sunday morning at APC, you may choose to participate in either a contemporary or a traditional style of worship with the same message proclaimed at both services. The Music Ministry provides many opportunities for children and adults to use their voices and instruments to praise the Lord and lead worship! In 2 Chronicles 15:13, it says the trumpeters and singers joined in unison as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever!” Today, just as then, we come together to lead worship as with one voice, to give Him our praise and claim his awesome power and Lordship in our lives. We welcome all ages and provide opportunities for using both voice and instruments in the music ministry.
The Chamber Ensemble provides music for Sunday morning traditional worship service, with rehearsals as needed. All accomplished musicians are eligible to join. For more information call Kristi Cameron at 703-729-2012, x103.
